scope:

The standard applies to all work undertaken by the Investment Projects Group and Asset Management where there is a large signalling element. It is to be applied to the following project work types:

a) Major Re-signalling and Remodelling Projects;

b) Renewals Projects;

c) Re-control Projects.

The standard outlines the requirements of various pre commissioning activities that are to be undertaken before a commissioning is allowed to proceed. It also identifies relative timing of each activity prior to the commissioning taking place.

It may also be used for minor signalling works as a "best practice" guide.

The standard is not mandatory for those works associated with a smaller stage work weekend or a single weekend project.

Purpose

This standard describes the requirements for undertaking pre-commissioning verification prior to commencing a major signalling commissioning.

The standard identifies documentation required to be produced prior to commissioning, details responsibilities for production and associated timescales which are clearly linked to points in time prior to the commissioning date in order that workload can be prioritised in a timely manner.

This standard is required to be read in conjunction with NR/L3/INI/CP0064 and specifies additional requirements regarding Delivering Work within Possessions.
