This specification describes the general requirements of the railway shunter's hand held and remote controlled radio units.
These units are required to work and operate correctly in hazardous environments and, except where stated hereafter, are to be compatible with other radios supplied to BR specifications 847 and 1971, (whether types for use in hazardous or non hazardous areas).
