Handover/Handback of Asset Maintenance Responsibility
| Organization: | NR |

scope:
This procedure will apply to the handover and handback of maintenance responsibilities during project works unless otherwise jointly agreed between the Head of Projects and the Infrastructure Contracts Manager. In this case, the decision will be recorded and all parties formally informed.
There is also the need for transfer of responsibility for the site to allow work to be carried out under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations, 1994 (CDM), however it is not intended to detail CDM roles and requirements as part of this Procedure. The Handover/Handback of Asset Maintenance responsibility is not always coincidental with Handover/Handback of responsibilities defined in the CDM Regulations.
Purpose
To define responsibilities for the maintenance of an asset and how the transfer is to be managed when the asset is to be renewed or modified by a contractor other than the contractor normally responsible for the maintenance of the asset.
