UK Business Procedure/Transmission Procedures - Management of Electricity Transmission Asset Drawings
|Publication Date:||1 September 2018|
PURPOSE AND SCOPE
This business procedure specifies the requirements for the management of drawings associated with National Grid UK electricity transmission assets.
Where work impacts on master drawings owned by a third party, it is also necessary to fully comply with the drawing management processes specified by the asset owner concerned.
As the owner and operator of electricity transmission assets, National Grid has specific duties and statutory obligations with respect to the provision, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of its transmission plant and systems. In order to satisfy these obligations, and as a safe, prudent, efficient and competent operator, National Grid's policy is to produce and maintain appropriate drawing records for its transmission assets. It is therefore a mandatory requirement that the requirements of this procedure are fully complied with by any party that undertakes work, which also impacts on asset drawings, whether such assets are new, or already in existence.
The following items are within the scope of this document; electronic master drawings, site held prints of drawings and site management of Construction Drawings, and Operation & Maintenance manuals. Areas out of the Purpose and Scope can be detailed in Section 2 of this document.
