The requirements are based on DNV GL rules for classification DNVGLRUSHIP Pt.4 Ch.9 Control and monitoring systems.

This document specifies the environmental test specification applicable to all instrumentation and automation equipment such as: hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electromechanical and electronic equipment, including computers and peripherals that shall be installed on ships, offshore units and high speed, light crafts classed with the Society. The scope of the tests required for a specific product shall be determined on a case by case basis by the Society, depending on field of application and intended location on board. The Society reserves the right, in justifiable cases, to request the performance of additional tests.
