This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the method for evaluating performance of automated dust concentration monitoring instruments (hereafter referred to as monitoring instruments) used for continuous and long-term measurement of dust concentration in flue gas that results from combustion of fuel etc. in factories and business facilities. This Standard specifically deals with light scattering, light transmission, and triboelectric monitoring instruments.

Measuring extents and monitoring site conditions of respective types of monitoring instruments are provided in Annex A, and performance criteria and typical configurations of respective types of monitoring instruments, in Annex B.
