This guidance applies to all senior managers identified to undertake SHE tours within TfL. Managers identified by their employing manager to undertake SHE tours are deemed as senior by virtue of having senior, lead in their job title as a minimum.

Purpose

The purpose of this document is to provide guidance and information to those undertaking senior manager Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) tours to maximise their effectiveness and consistency.

Senior manager SHE tours will:

a) improve SHE culture in TfL and supplier organisations by demonstrating leadership commitment

b) provide management with information on how well SHE is understood and applied on the front line

c) identify employee (including supplier employee) SHE concerns.
