NOTE: Network Rail manages a nationwide portfolio of circa 280 escalators.

Purpose

The purpose of this document is to specify the high-level requirements to be followed when undertaking any activity as part of the life cycle management for escalator and moving walk (EMW) assets.

NOTE: It should be read in conjunction with other asset policies.

This policy seeks to optimise the performance, risk and cost of ownership across all of its life cycle stages from concept to disposal to deliver maximum whole life benefit/value.
