This guidance is aimed at those who specify, design, install and maintain through contract, OPO CCTV systems on LU premises.
This document applies to OPO CCTV systems specifically designed and used for the capture of Real Time images of the Platform Train Interface (PTI) for display in Real Time on the platform or in the train cab, in order that the Train Operator or the Operational Control Centre (OCC) staff undertaking controller assisted dispatch duties can mitigate to As Low As Reasonably Practical (ALARP), the risks for safe dispatch of the train from the platform in all driving modes, in any direction.
Purpose
The purpose of this document is to establish a common guidance for the design, installation and maintenance of One Person Operation (OPO) CCTV systems that are provided on London Underground (LU) station platforms. Adopting these guidance will provide LU with systems of consistent design that enables train operators and control room staff with the correct information to allow them to make an informed decision when to dispatch the train from the platform. This document should be read in conjunction with the associated standard S1150 'Telecommunications - OPO CCTV Systems'.
