Purpose:
In accordance with the authority in DoD Directive 5145.01, this issuance establishes policy and assigns responsibilities in applying the limitations of Section 1045 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2018 (Public Law 115-91), also known and referred to in this issuance as "Section 1045," on the ability of retired and former general officers/flag officers (GO/FO), senior civilian equivalents, and very senior civilian equivalents to engage in lobbying activities with respect to the DoD.
