Introduction

The requirements contained in this Guide are for dynamic positioning systems for ships, mobile offshore drilling units, mobile offshore units and offshore support vessels. These requirements are to be used in conjunction with Part 4 of the ABS Rules for Building and Classing Marine Vessels (Marine Vessel Rules), Parts 4, 6, and 7 of the ABS Rules for Building and Classing Mobile Offshore Units (MOU Rules) and the ABS Rules for Survey After Construction (Part 7).
