scope:

This standard applies to working on e-vehicles with RDW (the Netherlands Vehicle Authority) type approval. They are:

- mopeds, motor scooters and motorbikes;

- passenger cars and commercial vehicles;

- lorries, buses and coaches;

provided that they feature:

- an electric drive, and

- where the electrical energy: 

 is stored on board the vehicle, or

- is generated on board the vehicle.

These vehicles can be:

- vehicles with only an electric drive, or

- vehicles with an electric drive and a combustion engine.

The scope of this standard also includes vehicles powered by low voltage (3.2.8) without RDW type approval for transporting freight or people.

Trolleybuses and rail vehicles are excluded from the scope.

The proper functioning of e-vehicles is not covered by the scope of this standard either.

NOTE The procedures described in this standard are safe. This does not mean that the results of such work will yield properly functioning e-vehicles.
