This module specifies the responsibilities and requirements for managing defective on-train equipment on Network Rail DOF fleet of On-track Machines and Rail Vehicles that are operated under the Network Rail Railway Safety Certificate on Network Rail Controlled Infrastructure.
It applies to:
a) OTM drivers;
b) People involved in permitting OTMs and Rail Vehicles into transit; and
c) People involved in responding to defects on OTMs and Rail vehicles.
Purpose
To define how Network Rail meets the requirements of Rail Group Standards RIS- 3437-TOM Issue 1, GO/GN3637 Issue 2 and GE/RT8000 for defective on-train equipment (DOTE). Its purpose is to manage the risk arising from hazards caused by defective equipment on Network Rail, Supply Chain Operations (SCO), Fleet and Engineering (F&E) Directly Operated Fleet (DOF) of On-track Machines (OTM), Rail Vehicles and associated ancillary equipment.
