PURPOSE

The purpose of this manual is to explain the generic elastomer types, including their properties, characteristics, and compatibilities with waterworks systems, to assist in the selection of and application in waterworks products. Users will be able to evaluate various elastomeric materials for specific applications through a better understanding of how elastomeric parts are manufactured and tested, and a clearer understanding of their physical and mechanical properties such as strength, resilience, and hardness. Finally, the proper storage and maintenance of elastomeric parts and products are presented to help users effectively maintain inventories.
