scope:
This standard applies to zero waste water reverse osmosis systems and zero waste retrofit kits to adapt to existing reverse osmosis systems. It covers definitions, general requirements, performance requirements, and marking for such systems.
PURPOSE
The purpose of this standard is to provide the minimum design and performance criteria for zero waste water reverse osmosis systems and zero waste retrofit kits to adapt to existing reverse osmosis systems. It is intended tool serve as a guide for producers, distributors, architects, engineers, contractors, installers, inspectors and users; to promote understanding regarding materials, manufacture, installation, and performance; and to identify zero waste water reverse osmosis systems complying with this standard. Zero waste water reverse osmosis systems are installed to conserve water which is normally wasted during the discharge cycle of the water treatment appliance.
