This Defence Standard (Def Stan) specifies technical requirements for five types of glass fibre products for use in thermal insulation applications on HM Ships and Submarines.

Requirements that are common to all types of glass fibre products are described in the main part of the standard.

Requirements for the materials and methods of manufacture, plus physical, thermal and other properties of the various types of glass fibre products used for specific applications, according to Def Stan 02-703, are specified in annexes A to E of this Def Stan.
