This Standard applies to the safety of such equipment designed and constructed for installation and use in accordance with CSA C22.1, Canadian Electrical Code, Part I.
This Standard also applies to electrically powered mechanisms that are designed to provide the signals needed for monitoring electrically-powered
Electrically-operate
This Standard also applies to electric actuators for use in commercial and industrial applications.
This Part 2-14 does not apply to electric actuators which are mechanically integrated with valves covered by a separate Part 2, e.g., CAN/CSA-E60730-2-8 or the Standard for electrically operated valves, CSA C22.2 No. 139.
This Part 2-14 does not apply to electric motors, requirements for which are contained in CSA C22.2 No. 77 and CSA C22.2 No. 100.
Requirements for manual switches not integral with an electric actuator are contained in CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 61058-1 or CSA C22.2 No. 55.
This Part 2-14 applies to electric actuators with a rated voltage not exceeding 600 V.
