All Siemens SOM110 modules installed that are powered up, on operational & non-operational infrastructure.

Modules produced or serviced after April 2019 have a QR code on the front of the module that identities the Mod Version and Serial Number of the Module.

If it doesn't have a QR code on the front, it is not possible to identify the mod state without removing the module from its housing slot as the identification is on the side, so all SOM110 must be assumed to be mod state C and follow this guidance.

To identify the mod state, it is the last letter crossed out, Mod state D is shown in Figure 1.

Purpose

To advise of a known reliability issue with powering up of WESTRACE Trackside System (WTS) Signal Operating Module (SOM110) Mod state C. Siemens advise that this process should be followed as best practice for all module states.
