Purpose.

This instruction establishes reporting policies, responsibilities, and other activities required to maintain a robust Unclassified Shared Situational Awareness Sharing Environment (USSASE) that enables Combatant Commands (CCMDs), Services, Agencies (C/S/As), and the Joint Staff to develop an Unclassified Common Operational Picture (UCOP) and supports Unclassified Shared Situational Awareness (USSA) in accordance with references a through m. It follows the guidance and organization of the Joint Reporting Structure outlined in reference a. Although the general policies in this instruction provide a framework for standardization, commanders at all levels must determine specific detailed implementation procedures that meet the intent of this instruction.
