This specification covers the performance requirements, related quality assurance provisions and packaging data for the assemblies listed in 1.2.

The panel assembly provides for transmitting and controlling electrical energy from a 24 volt battery to the image intensifier tube, reticle projector lamp, and panel lamps. Provision is made to transmit current from an alternate 6 volt battery to the image intensifier tube and reticle projector lamp.

This assembly positions and secures the periscope. A ballistic guard and manually operable shield provide protection against blast damage.

These periscopes provide a unity power viewing system and a nine power passive (low light level) sighting system. The periscope is equipped with a reticle projector which projects the image of a reticle pattern into the sighting system.

This assembly serves as a link between the periscope input coupling and the weapon. The linkage provides for elevation of the line of sight coaxially with the weapon.

This plate provides the observer with protection against blast damage. An adjustable headrest is a part of this assembly.

This assembly provides for reducing the entrance aperture of the periscope when boresighting in daylight. Beneficial comments (recommendations, additions, deletions) and any pertinent data which may be of use in improving this document should be addressed to: Commander, US Army Armament Research and Development Command, Attn. DRDAR-QA, Dover, New Jersey 07801 by using the self-addressed Standardization Document Improvement Proposal (DD Form 1426) appearing at the end of this document or by letter.

This mounting bracket provides for positioning a 6 volt battery.

This battery provides emergency power for the image intensifier tube and projected reticle.
