Purpose.
The door trim structural integrity test is a method to evaluate the crash performance of the front door trim without performing a full vehicle side impact test and pole impact test. In this subsystem test, the effects of the vehicle side impact are simulated with respect to its structural integrity. This test can be used earlier in the design process as a development test to uncover failure modes through quick learning cycles.
