This Practice covers the basic requirements for the lubrication of antifriction and hydrodynamic bearings used in electric motors. These requirements apply to induction, synchronous, and DC motors.
Excluded from this Practice:
a. On site vibration analysis
b. On site mechanical equipment alignment
c. Repair of the motor, e.g. bearing replacement, rotor repair, stator repair, etc. (PIP ELTFT04 addresses motor repair.)
