scope:
The scope of Part 3 of Defence Standard 00-133 is to provide the requirements for the design, construction and provision of Flight Deck and compartments on surface ships. These requirements thereby define the scope and boundary of the Ship-Air interface. Compliance with this standard shall form the basis of the ship's Naval Authority (Aviation) certification strategy and provide evidence to support the award of a MOD Ship's Safety Certificate (Aviation) and Ship-Air Release (SA-R) document.
Regulation for the Ship-Air Release process for Platform and Air System operators are published in RA 1029 and RA 1395. As a Ship-Air Release is pan-class, the MOD Ship's Safety Certificate (Aviation) should be checked prior to embarking to ensure further restrictions have not been imposed. Extant Certificates can be obtained from the Naval Authority System or by email from the MAA's Maritime Aviation group address. Further Information relating to the SA-R release can be found within BRd 766 EAO 1395(1).
