As each modality varies in the characteristics examined, i.e., fingerprint minutiae versus dynamic signature verification variables such as time or pressure, the standard testing methodology should be adapted and take into consideration both modality-dependent variables and environmental conditions during testing.

This technical report provides guidance for development of modality-specific biometric testing methodologies. Standard testing methodologies can be enhanced to account for modality-specific influencing factors, potentially improving the applicability of test results.
