Reference (b) establishes the Naval Diagnostic Imaging and Radiotherapy Board (NAVDIRB) to evaluate and assess technology, coordinate policy development, and implement new technologies. The establishment of the NMPAB provides Navy Medicine with a technically and clinically educated board composed of Navy radiation health officers and radiation specialists. The board will enhance the growth and readiness of the radiation health community by evaluating emerging technology, developing training curricula, revising directives, and standardizing the practice of medical physics in the Navy. This instruction is applicable to all ships and stations having medical department personnel.
