This instruction applies to ships and stations having credentialed and privileged Navy Medicine (NAVMED) personnel in direct patient care roles.
Purpose.
This instruction establishes policy and training requirements concerning the Long-Term Opioid Therapy Safety Program, including initial screening standards, required actions related to the safe prescription of opioids, and the continued monitoring of patients on long-term opioid therapy.
