This specification applies to any organisation involved in the development of signal structures and any product that is to be approved through the product acceptance process set out in NR/L2/RSE/100/05 for use as a CLS.

This specification covers both climbable and non-climbable signal structures. The alignment and deflection requirements also apply to gantries.

Types of signal structure are:

a) fixed climbable;

b) fixed non-climbable;

c) non-fixed / non-climbable.

Purpose

This specification sets out the technical requirements for signal structures. This allows signal structures to be developed in line with current Network Rail standards and procedures to confirm a product offered is the best solution for Network Rail.
