active, Most Current
Organization: NATO
Publication Date: 21 April 2021
Status: active
Page Count: 134
scope:

Allied Logistic Publication (ALP)-4.6.1(A), 'Tactical Joint Logistic Support Group (JLSG)' provides the NATO level 3 doctrine for the conduct of the JLSG from preparation to termination. ALP-4.6.1(A) builds on the principles described in Allied Joint Publication (AJP)-4(B) 'Allied Joint Doctrine for Logistics' and AJP-4.6(C) 'Allied Joint Doctrine for the Joint Logistic Support Group'.

PURPOSE

This publication contains guidelines for a standardised way of operating the JLSG, its headquarters (HQ) and subordinate units at the tactical level and it will support AJP-4.6. It will clarify the tactical tasks and responsibilities, regardless of whether the JLSG HQ is built upon a JLSG core staff element (CSE) from the NATO Command Structure (NCS) or NATO Force Structure (NFS). This publication will in addition, describe in more detail the coordination and execution of tactical level logistic sustainment including reception, staging and onward movement (RSOM) and rearward movement, staging and dispatch (RMSD). It aims to be usable for all possible JLSGs within the whole spectrum of Alliance Operations and Missions including collective defence.
