This standard applies to all conductor rail systems in plain line and junctionwork:

The requirements of this standard are applicable to all approved systems of conductor rail.

This standard does not cover completed works and maintenance tolerances for the conductor rail system, which are the subject of LU standard S1164.

Note: Where it is mandatory that any of the supporting information in Section 5 of this standard is to be applied, the appropriate requirement is set in Section 3.

Purpose

The purpose of this standard is to define the requirements for the inspection and maintenance of conductor rail.
