This standard is intended to be used as a guide in preparing unit loads, truckloads, railcar loads, and intermodal loads for movement of A&E. The purpose of the standard is to establish a standard method for all DoD activities that need to design, document, and transport these loads. Only A&E loads reviewed and approved by each service's appropriate approving authority (see 4.2 and 4.7) constitutes an authorized load. Following this standard alone does not constitute an authorized, approved ammunition or explosive load.
