This document covers classification of modular systems for the following:

- drilling systems

- well intervention systems.

Guidance note: A modular system may consist of various types of individual modules, which contain various types of equipment, components, etc. (incl. pumps, control equipment, power supply, etc.)

Modular systems may be, but are not limited to:

- for drilling:

- modular drilling rigs

- managed pressure drilling systems

- well test systems

- plug and abandonment units.

- for well intervention:

- well intervention units

- completion systems

- coil tubing units

- RLWI systems

- wireline units

- workover units.

Scope of classification includes:

- design, construction and certification of systems and equipment

- design, construction and certification of modules and the modular system

- in operation survey of the modular system.
