Scope.
This section establishes interface requirements for shipboard electronic equipment utilizing an electronic cooling water system to ensure compatibility between such equipment and the electronic cooling water system. This section is applicable to electronic cooling water systems cooled by either seawater or by the ship's chilled water system. The policies and procedures established by MIL-STD-1399 are mandatory. This section and the basic standard are to be viewed as an integral single document. This interface Standard does not apply to electronic cooling systems under the technical cognizance of Naval Nuclear Propulsion (NAVSEA 08), unless specifically invoked.
intended Use:
The water cooling systems covered by this standard are intended for cooling of electronic equipment onboard naval ships and submarines.
