The fire hazard risk assessment criteria defined in this standard are considered applicable to communications equipment enclosures installed in an outside plant environment. Examples include pedestals, and pole-mounted (depending on installation height), or pad-mounted remote cabinets.
This standard does not apply to enclosures that are solely wall-mounted.
Purpose
The purpose of this standard is to provide fire hazard risk criteria for communications equipment enclosures used in the outside plant.
