This guidance applies to any project that intends to make a change to an existing PSR on any part of the LU network. The reason(s) for any PSR change shall be fully documented and the authoriser must be satisfied that all factors covered in this document have been given due consideration and that any necessary technical or physical alterations are carried out, or signs and warnings provided, to meet the safety requirements of the alteration.

Purpose

The purpose of this document is to provide guidance on the process described in the 'Permanent Speed Restriction Change' procedure PR0014 which is to be followed when making a change to existing permanent speed restrictions on any part of the London Underground (LU) network. An existing Permanent Speed Restriction (PSR) may be signed or unsigned, i.e. enforced by the signalling system.
