This Standard covers requirements for the odor removing mechanical seal toilets. This standard covers physical requirements and other significant properties, in addition to methods of marking and identification.
PURPOSE
The purpose of this Standard is to establish a generally acceptable guidelines for odor removing mechanical seal toilets for use in recreational vehicles. Such products are equipped with fan ventilated valve controlled units and ducting system to remove bowl odors to th approved location in the holding tank of the recreational vehicle. Its purpose is to serve as a guide for producers, distributors, designers, engineers, installers, inspectors, enforcement agencies and users; to promote understanding regarding materials, manufacture and installation; and to provide for identifying odor removing mechanical seal toilets complying with this Standard.
The provisions of this Standard are not intended to prevent the use of any alternate material, method of construction, or performance, provided any such alternate meets the intent of this Standard.
