Application:-
• This notice board covers the renewal of a full or half-set of switches when used conjunction with HPSS PowerLink Backdrives.
• It is also applicable should replacement switch rail web drive brackets be required.
Mechanical:-
• This applies to all versions of HPSS (RT60 / UIC54B) only.
• This change is not applicable to the HPSA (bearer 1) which remains at 150mm hole centres.
Personnel:-
• This applies to all staff involved with the planning, ordering, installing or maintaining the switches and POE.
Purpose
The purpose of this Notice Board is to draw attention to a change that has been made to the stretcher bar rail drillings on the switch rails, and the subsequent change to the HPSS switch rail web drive brackets. The centres of these holes have been changed from 180mm to 220mm.
There will be a transition period where 180mm drilled switch rails may still be in circulation, (strategic spares) therefore it is important to check that the correct brackets are available for the switch / half-set being installed ahead of the possession.
