GPA - STD 2186

Method for Extended Analysis of Hydrocarbon Liquid Mixtures Containing Nitrogen and Carbon Dioxide by Temperature Programmed Gas Chromatography

active, Most Current
Organization: GPA
Publication Date: 1 January 2022
Status: active
Page Count: 48
scope:

This analytical method is applicable for liquid hydrocarbon mixtures which may contain components of N, CO2, and/or hydrocarbon compounds C1 - C14 which fall within the ranges listed in Table 5.1. This method is performance based, so any GC system may be used if it meets or exceeds acceptance criteria using the GPA 2186 precision table data in Section 9 to evaluate performance.

NOTE 5.1 - The round-robin data used to produce the precision tables for this standard includes a sample containing 62 mole percent of C6 plus with a molecular weight of 93, therefore it is recommended that the analysis of samples containing a higher molecular weight C6 plus be made in accordance with GPA 2103.
