SCOPE.
This cable specification sheet addresses the requirements of a fiber optic cable containing 12 loose fibers within a 2 mm outer diameter. Coverage includes both fiber types and temperature ranges.
Design constraints.
Figure 1 shows the cable construction and provides essential dimensioning detail for a fiber optic cable with a 2 mm outer diameter that contains 12 loose fibers within the loose tube cable. Cable construction consists of an outer jacket (with a 2 mm diameter), strength member (aramid yarn or aramid tape), and loose fibers (12 optical fibers).
