This Handbook applies to all tracks and structures on LU running lines and in depots and sidings.
It covers the application of track design to the LU environment and operational requirements.
This Handbook needs to be read in conjunction with G156.
Purpose
The purpose of this Handbook is to provide an overview of track design, including junctionwork.
It is particularly aimed at persons new to the rail industry, although it also provides useful guidance to experienced personnel.
This document supports the use of LU standard S1156, S1157 and S1162 which should be consulted for greater detail.
