This clause is applicable to the biogas flare.
Please note that the basic assumptions for a biogas flare are different to those for thermoprocessing equipment, i.e.:
- A biogas flare does not have an downstream process installation.
- A biogas flare is not industrial thermoprocessing equipment.
- A biogas flare is always in the open air.
- The outlet of a biogas flare is always in a safe zone; people can't be present in this safe zone.
- A biogas flare always has a combustion chamber with an open connection to the outside air.
- A biogas flare can be used permanently or as an emergency flare in case of emergencies.
- A biogas flare shall be designed for the quantities of gas to be discharged.
- The burner itself and the gas pipes constitute a risk.
