This document specifies definitions, test methods, test parameters and requirements for spirally wound steel reinforced PE pipes and for spirally wound steel reinforced PE fittings intended to be used into non-pressure underground drainage and sewerage applications. The steel reinforcement is spirally wound but not contiguous. SRPE pipes and SRPE fittings that include sockets and spigots, where the sockets and spigots are not steel reinforced, are also covered by this document. NOTE 1 - Pipes and fittings from different manufacturers, conforming to this document, are not necessarily interchangeable. This document covers a range of pipes and fitting sizes, material, and nominal ring stiffness, and gives recommendations concerning colours. This document is applicable to pipes and fittings with or without an integral socket with elastomeric ring seal joints as well as to extrusion welded and fused joints.
