This specification covers the requirements for raw material, heat treatment, microstructure, torsional performance, static balancing, quality and source approval for two types of parts.
Type I --- Parts are quench and temper hardened only.
Type II --- Parts are quench and temper hardened then selectively induction hardened.
Restricted Chemical Substances
All product supplied to the requirements of this specification must comply with the requirements of the MPAPS B-50 specification.
APPLICATION
This specification covers the requirements for forged heat-treated steel driveline components such as yokes, flanges, stub ends and similar parts.
