This standard covers the performance requirements of panel retaining features for the following plastic fasteners: push pins, push rivets, push nuts. Figure 1 shows examples of these fasteners. These fasteners are typically installed at vehicle assembly plants by hand, without any additional tools.
This standard may also be used for integrated trim pin and or PIA clips.
NOTE: The performance, especially of polyamide, is affected by water absorbed into the body of the part. Part drawings shall state how the parts were conditioned for testing.
