This method is applicable to the determination of didecyldimethylammonium chloride (DDAC) and DDAC equivalents in wood using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with indirect UV detection following extraction. The chromatographic peaks appear as troughs or negative peaks. Monovalent cations produce an interference in the chromatogram.
