This guidance applies to employees, including contractors, sub-contractors, agency workers and suppliers. It can help you to support a young person or an adult at risk of harm in your area undertaking work experience, work placements or a visit (referred to as placements from this point forward). If you are supporting an apprentice who is under 18 or an adult at risk of harm, please make sure you contact the Skills and Employment graduate and apprenticeship development team via email on, Refer to the references below as this guidance is not exhaustive for employees who are under 18.

Purpose

The purpose of this guidance, in line with the TfL Safeguarding policy, is to ensure:

• the safeguarding and protection of young people and adults at risk of harm undertaking work experience, work placements or visits at TfL.

• that everyone working at TfL is aware of their responsibilities in this area. This document supports the Work placement instructions on Platform.
