This specification sheet addresses the requirements of a fiber optic cable containing a 12-fiber, rolled flexible ribbon with a 2-millimeter (mm) outer diameter. Coverage includes both fiber types and temperature ranges.

Design constraints. Figure 1 shows the cable construction and provides essential dimensioning detail for a fiber optic cable with a 2-mm outer diameter that contains a 12-fiber, rolled flexible ribbon. Cable construction consists of an outer jacket (with a 2-mm diameter), strength member (aramid yarn or aramid tape), water blocking material, and a rolled flexible ribbon (with 12 optical fibers). Following figure 1 are requirements for design and construction, material, and performance.
