scope:
This Standard:
a) defines the minimum performance requirements for single core traction feeder cables operating up to a nominal voltage of 750V DC on the London Underground network;
b) covers Limited Fire Hazard (LFH) cables which can be used in all areas.
The cables covered by this Standard shall be used outdoors (or both outdoors and indoors in the case of LFH cables) as a power cable forming any part of the DC traction power supply circuit. Cables covered by this standard are comprises:
• Connections between rectifiers and incoming DC circuit breakers within substations;
• Those originating within a substation and end with a connection to the traction conductor rail;
• connections from the conductor rail to a depot shore supply system;
• connections from the conductor rail to Track Isolating Switches or other power equipment;
• connections between two lengths of conductor rail;
This includes laying unprotected over track ballast.
This standard replaces S1108 A3.
Purpose
The purpose of this Standard is to define the minimum requirements for DC traction feeder cables.
