scope:

1.1 These requirements cover the following;

1. a) Wood, metal, or a combination of wood and metal fabricated planks;
2. b) Fabricated platforms for use with suspended, fixed, or rolling scaffold;
3. c) Modular suspended platforms;
4. d) Scaffold decks;
5. e) Mobile work stands;
6. f) Work cages (baskets), and
7. g) Platforms with one, two, or multiple points.

1.2 These requirements do not cover:

1. a) Suspended scaffold components,
2. b) Accessories for use with or in the erection of fixed or rolling scaffolds,
3. c) Deleted.
4. d) The construction or installation of scaffolding,
5. e) Hoists intended for use with suspended scaffolds, or
6. f) Suspended platforms utilizing angled or articulating sections.

1.3 Welded frame and system scaffold assemblies are to be additionally evaluated to Testing and Rating Scaffold Assemblies and Components, SAIA A11.1.
