Purpose

This pamphlet has been prepared to give general information about the Selection Instrument for Flight Training (SIFT). The purpose of the SIFT is to screen aviation applicants to insure selection panels accept only those persons with the capabilities and aptitude to succeed in flight school. It is intended that after reading this pamphlet, examinees will have a clearer understanding of the purpose and make-up of the SIFT and thus be more at ease when taking the test.
