Purpose.
This standard describes the quality, reliability, durability and performance requirements for all Electric Cooling Fans (ECF), including all the sub components such as motor, blade assemblies, shroud, resistors, etc. A portion of this standard is focused at testing powertrain cooling systems consisting of the ECF and shroud, herein referred to as the cooling fan. This standard is a supplement to GM authorized ECF component drawings.
